There is bound to be a very high demand and, at the moment, we are limited to our ringfenced £20m in total, although we will be making the case for more if this runs out.

There is also a Local lockdown grant which will be available for businesses affected by the local lockdown.

The key criteria that we need to be aware of is that there is a 3 week waiting time before you can apply and that it is Ratable Value based once again so any business with a RV up to £12k will be able to apply for £1k support and any business with an RV of £12.001-£50K will be able to apply for a grant of £1.5k. businesses over £50k will not be able to apply for the grant.

However, there is some grey area around what qualifies as there has been no direct instruction to close any business within our industry and if you decide to close because you are uneconomic then there is no grounds for claim at all. So we have raised the question about whether being prohibited from trading with visitors from outside the county who don't meet the eligibility for travel criteria constitutes a partial lockdown or not.
