Exciting events for the town

 Dear Member

It has certainly been an interesting and challenging period since reopening for us all which has seen unprecedented demand on everyone and new vsiitors to the town inspired to return.

It is even more exciting to see that we are now able to have the Venue Cymru back in action and contributing to the town appeal once again with the first show being this Sunday with Jane Macdonald featuring as the main act.

However there are other events that have been hastily prepared for the coming week.

The Popular Llandudno Goldwing festival will take place this year on Saturday 4th September.
Goldwings will be displayed on the promenade from 10am onwards in a static display.

This years evening parade will commence at 8.00pm.

For the first time this year highways have given us a complete road closure. This will commence at 7.30pm and finish once the parade has finished but the notice will say 9.30pm.

Could we please circulate this information around the members and their guests to avoid any inconvenience.

Peter Hibbert of the Evans Hotel would also like to ask our members if there are any volunteers that could help with marshalling the parade. They would need to be available from 6.30pm on Saturday evening for approximately 2 hours. If we have any volunteers please contact him on 01492 860784.

In parallel with this event, the Annual Three Castles Historic rally will see it's conclusion on Saturday with the usual run around the Orme and a static display on the Promenade from Vaughan Street to Tudor Road during the day for people to look at.

Next wednesday sees the return of the brilliant Tour of Britain Cycle race. This year the competitors will not only face an arduous circling of the Great Orme on Wednesday afternoon, but they will face an even more challenging ascent to the Summit of the Great Orme via Ty Gwyn road to reach the finish line. This is the steepest ascent to a stage finish that the event has done and promises to ensure spaectacular media coverage for the town once again. Please read up on the timetable and road closure information attached to this email and available on the LHA website so you can be well informed of the probable impacts to your business and Guests.

Stay Safe and Trade Well,

Berin Jones
Chairman

Dear Business/Resident
We are pleased to welcome The Tour of Britain; the UKs biggest professional cycle race, on Wednesday 8 September 2021. The 215-kilometer Queen Stage will be the longest and arguably toughest stage of the race, from Aberaeron to the summit of the Great Orme.
This event has historically been very well supported in Conwy County. All the action is broadcast live on ITV4 in the UK, showcasing our towns and villages to the world.

Of course, the race will go ahead subject to local conditions and in line with relevant national guidelines.

Please read the attached sheet for specific timings for Llandudno and arrangements we have put in place to minimise disruption to your household.

Road closures will be manned at all times and access will be maintained for as long as possible for residents and business owners. Any remaining vehicles will be towed to Bodafon Fields, Llandudno. These can be collected anytime via the gate on the main driveway.

For safety, access will not be possible between approximately 15:00 and 16:00 when the race is expected to arrive.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience. We hope you agree that the event will be a real positive for the area and we thank you for your patience and co-operation.

For more information about the race visit: www.thetour.co.uk.
If you have any specific concerns contact: events@conwy.gov.uk, (01492) 575943.
