New Welsh Guidance
The Chairman's take on the new annoucement

Dear Member
The First Minister has today announced further restrictions to reduce
the risk of infections spreading. The new Regulations are only being
applied against Commercial premises and do not affect Household
environments.
We have tried to persuade the Government that introducing Covid Passes
to access any public environment is the right next step but this has
been rejected. This would have ensured that the 4 million people who
have taken the decision not to have the vaccine; and who have now placed
the Health service at risk of being overwhelmed by the virus; would be
unable to go anywhere where the majority of the people present would be
vaccinated against severe symptoms. All measures being introduced now
are to ensure that those who have chosen not to have the vaccine don't
catch the virus and become so ill that they need hospital treatment
which would cause massive overloading of the system.
The step to daily lateral flow tests for any person who has had both
vaccinations who is identified as having been in contact with a positive
person is a great step forward for us as an industry. The £120m support
is likely to be distributed through an ERF style platform which we will
hear more about tomorrow from the Minister.
We expect to see restrictions lifted quite soon post Christmas and are
delighted that the ultimate restriction which was being discussed has
been rejected by the Cabinet in favour of a return to some of the less
labour impacting measures of table service, maximum of 6 in a group and
track and trace details being recorded once again, which most
responsible customers are compliant to without adding to our Labour
costs.
If anyone needs a copy of the Track and Trace methods that can be used
simply and easily then please contact me on chairman@llandudnoha.co.uk.
Stay safe
Berin Jones
Chairman
