Latest on indoor opening

Please find attached the list of mitigations for reopening hospitality
settings indoors as of 17 May 2021. These mitigations align to the
overall guidance as found via UK Hospitality Cymru [1] and via the
Tourism & Hospitality Businesses Guidance [2].

Toolkit to support businesses including assets:

As a reminder, a number of assets have been produced to help hospitality
businesses with checklists if you, your members or staff are unclear on
some of the guidance around keeping records, hygiene, social distancing
etc. Please see Business Wales Toolkit [3]

Useful one-pagers:

A series of useful one-pagers have also been produced that provide easy
to read summaries of key aspects of the guidance e.g. Keeping Records
[4] / Hygiene [5] / Social Distancing [6] specifically for hospitality
businesses. These can be found all in one place at the Business Wales
Toolkit [7] and this link is regularly shared across our industry-facing
social channels and newsletters e.g.
https://twitter.com/VisitWalesBiz/status/1392434509455503361

Comms:

As previously shared and mentioned, two live consumer campaigns (Addo
and Keep Wales Safe) are active, backed by significant marketing spend,
both carrying specific hospitality messaging. These campaigns are very
targeted at specific audiences as well as being geo-targeted to areas
close to hospitality premises. However, with so many messages going out
regularly from Govt. channels, we really need the industry’s support
to get these messages in front of the most relevant audiences – and
this is often through hospitality businesses’ own channels.

Please see attached pdf of the examples of assets and effort made to
date with messaging.

You, your memberships and your clientele:

1. When communicating with your staff and your memberships who
ultimately deal with customers, please ask your members to reinforce
these key messages on their website, emails to customers, social media
channels wherever possible:

  - _Pre-book_

  - _Provide contact details_

  - _Meet with up to 6 people_

  - _Eat and drink at the table only_

  - _Wear a mask as much as possible_

_ _

2. Share the Addo toolkit [8] and a Keep Wales Safe toolkit [9],
asking them to download the assets and share across their social
channels.

3. Circulate the Business Wales Toolkit [3], asking them to refer to
the checklists if they are unclear on some of the guidance around
keeping records, hygiene, social distancing etc.

4. Ask them to follow and share content from our key channels as
well as you own channels:

General public: @visitwales / @croesocymru / @WelshGovernment /
@LlywodraethCym

Industry facing: @visitwalesbiz / @croesocymrubus / @_businesswales /
@_busnescymru

5. Ask them to sign up to the Visit Wales industry newsletter for
regular updates

Questions to the sector:

It would be good to understand the following from the sector please?

1. How are you/ your businesses communicating with your staff?

2. How are you communicating with your memberships?

3. How are your members communicating with the clientele/ patrons?

Funding:

Further detail on the new round of funding will be shared in due course.
Please inform your members and businesses that all funding packages and
support are made available via Business Wales [11]. The eligibility
platform for the round mentioned today will be available from Monday
17th May on the Business Wales [11] website. .

Thank you

Diolch yn fawr
